Hot Spicy grilled pomfret Image

Fresh Pomfret is excellent on the grill and this recipe is just perfect for a spring evening or for a summer lunch. Marinated with tangy lemon-pepper, this grilled dish is served with fresh steamed vegetables and with creamy sauce. A wholesome and a filling dish for everyone in the family, this grill has loads of proteins.

Ingredients

Pomfret fresh 1 no (250 gm)
Garlic Pod 1 no (finely chopped)
Lime juice 2 tbsp
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Lemon pepper 1 tsp (for seasoning)
Black pepper 3 no (freshly cracked)
Parsley 1 sprig (finely chopped)
Salt As per taste

Method

  • Clean the pomfret well and make four fine slits with a knife on each side of pomfret.
  • Mix all the ingredients and marinate pomfret in it for one hour.
  • Grill marinated pomfret in a pan on medium fire. Both sides of the fish must be grilled for almost four minutes.
  • Pour the remaining marinade on it while grilling the fish and keep it covered for a minute.
  • Check if the fish is fully cooked using a fork. If the fish is easily flaked by a fork, it is done.

Parsely Butter Sauce

Ingredients

Lime juice 1 tbsp
Melted butter 2 tbsp
Parsley 1 sprig (finely chopped)
Salt As per taste

Method

  • Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix well for a minute.
  • Sauce is ready to serve along with grill pomfret.

To garnish steam a carrot, beans and baby corn, decorate the dish as shown in the picture. Keep some lemon slices on the pomfret to give an appetizing look.
