Semolina and Jaggery Pudding

Desserts are the final flourish to a heavenly meal and are much desired by everyone. Given here is a traditional pudding with rich flavour and creamy texture. Pamper your taste buds with this wonderful dessert.

Milk | 600 ml |
Jaggery (grated) | 200 mg |
Semolina (roasted) | 70 mg |
Vanilla essence | 1 tbs |
Nutmeg | A pinch |
Salt | A pinch |
Sultana / Raisins | 50 gm |
Cashew nuts (roasted and crushed) | 50 mg |
Method
- Take milk in a thick bottomed pan and heat it on a medium flame. Add grated jaggery.
- Stir continuously so that jaggery gets dissolved in the milk.
- Then, add roasted semolina little by little to the mixture.
- Let it boil for 8 – 10 minutes. Keep stirring continuously till the mixture becomes thick and is cooked thoroughly.
- Remove from heat. Add vanilla essence, salt, nutmeg and raisins.
- Transfer into serving plates. Garnish with roasted cashew nuts.
- Serve either warm or chilled.
