Begum committed suicide in the Mahal and her two children did not bury her, instead, they kept her body and mourned for 10 days before burning her. The government had also permitted the royal heirs to shoot anyone who tried to invade the Mahal and so, there have been many instances when visitors did not return from the forest or were too haunted to speak a word.

Kuldhara Village, Rajasthan

In the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, lies Kuldhara village, abandoned since the 1800s. Legend has it that the cruel king of Jaisalmer wanted to have the beautiful daughter of the village chief.
