semolina and jaggery pudding recipe

Desserts are the final flourish to a heavenly meal and are much desired by everyone. Given here is a traditional pudding with rich flavour and creamy texture. Pamper your taste buds with this wonderful dessert.

Quantity

Milk 600 ml
Jaggery (grated) 200 mg
Semolina (roasted) 70 mg
Vanilla essence 1 tbs
Nutmeg A pinch
Salt A pinch
Sultana / Raisins 50 gm
Cashew nuts (roasted and crushed) 50 mg

Method

  • Take milk in a thick bottomed pan and heat it on a medium flame. Add grated jaggery.
  • Stir continuously so that jaggery gets dissolved in the milk.
  • Then, add roasted semolina little by little to the mixture.
  • Let it boil for 8 – 10 minutes. Keep stirring continuously till the mixture becomes thick and is cooked thoroughly.
  • Remove from heat. Add vanilla essence, salt, nutmeg and raisins.
  • Transfer into serving plates. Garnish with roasted cashew nuts.
  • Serve either warm or chilled.
